About The Author:

The author Mark Manson is world- famous blogger with more than two million readers. Most of his blogs are based on building better relationships. This is Manson’s first attempt in writing a book. Manson seems to have experienced a lot of ups and downs in life which makes him to mention his own life experiences throughout the book. The author has quiet a realist approach towards life. That is what makes this book stand apart from the rest.

The Book Review:

Every chapter inside the book begins with storytelling. And then, Manson mentions the lessons in those short stories. That’s how Manson has worked through the book. “The Subtle Art of Not Giving A F*ck” is a masterpiece that would compel the readers to yell out a “woah” after reading each paragraph. The way Manson has quoted down his thoughts is a marvel in today’s literary world. The author very well knows how to play with words. The words here would literally urge the readers to believe in the ideologies that the author discusses in the book.

The book is not just exemplary in the self-help world, but also in humor. The way Manson has given the subtle lessons of life through his humor and sarcasms is applaudable. The book seems to be like a slap on the faces of those who read it. But, trust me, that slap would have a lot to teach you. The best thing about the book is that the author doesn’t thrust his ideas upon the reader’s mind. He just repeatedly  keeps on mentioning how he perceives the world and leaves every chapter at an open end, for the readers to decide whether to grasp the beliefs or not.

This is not any of those books that preach high wisdom or something that seems to be totally optimistic. No. Not at all. Rather, this is one of those rarest books that will give you the insights into reality, be it bitter or sweet. Also, something that I personally appreciate about this book is that it doesn’t end up at a boring point. My interest in reading the book was maintained throughout. All credits to Mr. Mark Manson.

Who Should Read This Book?

If you’re a realist, you must opt for reading this. And if you’re not, even then you should read it. The book will widen up your perspective to seeing life, problems and situations. The book will provide you with a cleaner pair of lens to look upon things, which in turn would lead you to self betterment. It, being a self help book, is a perfect read for all kinds of audiences.

In the first chapter of the book, Manson writes, “In my life, I have given a fuck about many things. I have also not given a fuck about many things. And like the road not taken, it was the fucks not given that made all the difference.”

This statement says it all about everything that’s mentioned inside the book. The book shows how we can focus our energy on only the things which are important for us, getting rid of everything else that does not excite our soul. Also, the literary devices and humor used throughout the book makes the read even more interesting.
