Situated off the road from Sari Village & Mastura at 3kms, Deoria Tal boasts of being the best summer camping destination for the adventurous. Overlooking the Himalayas, Deoria Tal is situated on a much frequented trek route of Uttarakhand leading up to Tungnath, the highest shrine of God Shiva. Quite isolated, Deoria Tal has a crystal clear lake in the center; the visually appealing backdrop is decorated by the snow-covered Chaukhamba Mountains. Clear skies allow for a beautiful reflection of the towering mountains in the placid lake water. Trekking is the way to arrive at Deoria Tal, an uphill climb through and through. Here, renting a tent & sleeping bag could be nearly at INR 550, excluding cooking. An economical option is camping in groups.

Considered to be 1 of the best camping sites in India, Chopta at 2900m above sea level is the base for the trek to Tungnath, the highest temple of Lord Shiva. From Chopta, you could savour the stunning views of the mighty peaks of Trishul, Nanda Devi & Chaukhamba. Chopta is covered with forests having pine, deodar, and rhododendron varieties of trees.

From here, you could head out for treks to Deoria Tal, Tungnath, Deoria Tal, Chandrashila, etc. Located in Rudraprayag district, Chopta is at its inviting best in April- June & September- November.
